"I think the internship program was the biggest learning stretch for me. I never would have known all the things I was capable of without the ANC Glendale internship. It's a great opportunity to learn about the struggles and issues of the Armenian-American community, governmental proceedings and how they impact our daily lives while meeting new people and helping the community,” noted former intern, Ani Nazaryan. “ I'd recommend this internship to others because it is an opportunity of a lifetime - an opportunity to accomplish so much in such a short time," added Nazaryan. The 2012 Winter Session of the ANCG Internship Program will begin on January 4, 2012and end on May 25, 2012. Applications for the internship are available on the ANC Glendale Chapter website at www.ancglendale.org and through the ANCG headquarters. Applications must be postmarked by Friday, December 23, 2011 to be considered for the Winter 2012 Session. Established in Fall 2007, the ANCG IP is a selective part-time, leadership-training program, which introduces young public servants to all aspects of the public affairs arena. The program provides an opportunity for student leaders and activists to gain an in-depth understanding of Armenian American issues as well as advocacy efforts on the local level, while contributing to ANCG's vision and mission. The Armenian National Committee-Glendale Chapter advocates for the social, economic, cultural, and political rights of the city’s Armenian-American community and promotes increased civic participation and awareness at the grassroots and public policy levels.
