![]() Deadline for ANCG Summer Internship Program Soon Approaching Glendale, CA - The Armenian National Committee - Glendale Chapter announced this week that the May 9, 2008 deadline to submit applications for its Summer 2008 Internship Program is only two week away. Interested individuals can view and download copies of the application by visiting the "For Stu "The ANC Glendale Internship Program has not only sharpened my communication and network skills, but it has also given me the opportunity to understand the fundamentals of politics, public reations and grassroots organization," stated Tamar Tomassian, current intern with ANCG. "The experience I have gained in the last sixteen weeks will without a doubt beneift me personally and allow me to better serve my community," added Thomassian. Established in Fall 2007, the ANCG IP is a selective ten-week, part time, leadership training program, which introduces intelligent and driven young public servants to all aspects of the public affairs arena. The program provides an opportunity for student leaders and activists to gain an in-depth understanding of Armenian American issues as well as advocacy efforts on the local level, while contributing to ANCG's vision and mission. The program hosts spring, summer, and autumn sessions. In addition to networking with community leaders, candidates participate in workshops featuring a variety of guest speakers, including public officials, ANC leadership, and specialists from the community. Interns also partake in joint projects with fellow interns as well as individual sessions ranging from media relations and civic participation to grassroots advocacy. The 2008 Summer Session of the ANCG Internship Program will begin on June 2 and run through August 22nd. Applications for the internship are available on the ANC Glendale Chapter website at www.ancglendale.org and through the ANCG headquarters. Applications must be postmarked by Friday, May 9, 2008 to be considered for the Summer 2008 Session. Applications will be reviewed and those deemed qualified will be invited for an interview before final selections are made in late May.
