
ANC-Glendale Chapter Now Acception Applications for Spring 2008 Program Session

Glendale, CA – The Armenian National Committee – Glendale Chapter announced this week that applications for its Spring 2008 Internship Program are now available. Interested individuals can view and download copies of the application by visiting the “For Students” section of the ANC Glendale website (www.ancglendale.org).
Established in Fall 2007, the ANCG IP is a selective ten-week, part time, leadership training program, which introduces intelligent and driven young public servants to all aspects of the public affairs arena. The Program provides an opportunity for student leaders and activists to gain an in-depth understanding of Armenian American issues as well as advocacy efforts on the local level, while contributing to ANCG's vision and mission The program hosts spring, summer, and autumn sessions.
In addition to networking with community leaders, candidates participate in workshops featuring a variety of guest speakers, including public officials, ANC leadership, and specialists from the community. Interns also partake in joint projects with fellow interns as well as individual sessions ranging from media relations and civic participation to grassroots advocacy.
“The 2007 ANC Glendale internship program has been a great growing experience for me and my fellow interns. It has given me the opportunity to learn the basics of leadership and the ability to work as a team to serve the Armenian community in Glendale,” noted Shogher Kahvedjian, a 2007 Fall Session program participant. “Through this internship, I have gained knowledge of issues of concern to the Armenian community,” added Kahvedjian.
The 2008 Spring Session of the ANCG Internship Program will begin on January 21 and run through May 2nd. Applications for the internship are available on the ANC Glendale Chapter website at www.ancglendale.org and through the ANCG headquarters. Applications must be postmarked by Monday, December 3, 2007 to be considered for the Spring 2008 Session. Applications will be reviewed and those deemed qualified will be invited for an interview before final selections are made in January 2008.
