ANC-Glendale Donates Over 3000 Food and Clothing Items to Salvation Army

Glendale, CA - The Armenian National Committee – Glendale Chapter recently donated over 3000 non perishable food items, clothing items, assorted shoes, and blankets amongst other things to the Salvation Army in Glendale to help the local charity restock during and after the holiday season.

“We took this opportunity to make a real and tangible difference on the lives of thousands of children and their families during the holidays,” stated ANC Glendale Co-Chair, Sarkis Ourfalian.  “We were overjoyed to see such a great response from the community for our clothing and food drive and are grateful to all those who participated,” added Ourfalian.

On hand to receive the donations were Corps Officers Captains Rio and Rachel Ray, who noted that the organization was in greater need this year since more families are seeking free services due to financial constraints.

“The Salvation Army is so thankful for ANCG’s generous donation of can foods and clothing.  During these difficult times more families than ever before have been in need and it is groups like the Armenian National Committee that enables us to meet those needs,” stated Captain Rio Ray of Glendale Salvation Army.  “By working together we can feed the hungry, help the hurting, and give hope to those in despair,” added Ray.

The Armenian National Committee-Glendale Chapter advocates for the social, economic, cultural, and political rights of the city's Armenian American community and promotes increased civic participation at the grassroots and public policy levels.
