![]() ANC Glendale to Host Path to College Community Forum Glendale, CA - The Armenian National Committee of Glendale in "The ANC-Glendale Chapter organized the Path to College community forum to provide Armenian-American parents with the opportunity to learn about their child's school system and how they can be active in preparing their student for success," commented ANC- Glendale Chapter Executive Director, Elen Asatryan. "We understand that there is a great language barrier that hinders many parents to provide the much needed support system their child needs and it our hope to break down some of those barriers through the Path to College program," added Asatryan. Forum will be used to inform Armenian speaking parents on such topic matters as high school graduation requirements, 4 year plan, ELD classes, report cards, A-G college admissions requirements, the college application process and deadlines, financial aid, SAT & ACT college admission exams, how to write person statements, and the difference between community colleges and 4-year universities. as well as character building, parenting tips, and much more. During the forum, parents will acquire a firm understanding of the Glendale School System and learn meaningful ways to communicate with their child's school. Event will be conducted in Armenian. "Glendale College is pleased to collaborate with ANC by providing prospective students information on financial aid. These are difficult economic times and we want to make sure we work with our community constituents to facilitate access to higher education," noted Glendale Community College President, Dr. Dawn Lindsay. "It is the commitment of the Glendale Unified School Board and the Glendale Unified School District to ensure the academic success of all of our students. This includes offering our students every opportunity to learn about the post-high school options through valuable programs such as this.
