![]() ANC-Glendale Chapter Hosts Annual Holiday Celebration
Glendale, CA – On Thursday, January 11, 2007, over 60 community leaders and elected officials gathered at Notte Luna Restaurant for a holiday celebration hosted by the Armenian National Committee – Glendale Chapter. The event provided guests an opportunity to meet the new Executive Director, Elen Asatryan, as well as to get a brief on ANC Glendale’s plans for 2007. Guests included representatives from Congressman Adam Schiff’s office and Assemblyman Paul Krekorian’s office, Councilmember Ara Najarian, City Manager James Starbird, City Clerk Ardashes Kassakhian, Assistant Superintendent Alice Petrossian, GCC Superintendent/President Audrey Levy, ANCA Western Region Executive Director Antranig Kzirian, several members of the Glendale School Board, members of the Glendale College Board of Trustees, leaders of community-based organizations, principals from local schools and numerous city staff from various departments. “It was great to meet the individuals that make this city so luminous. I look forward to working with each and every one of them to make this city even better. We had a wonderful turnout and I hope this year will be one of progression for all of us.” said Elen Asatryan. ANC Glendale also used this opportunity to contribute to the community. Guests were asked to donate new science and reference books to the Hoover High School library. ANC Glendale advocates for the social, economic, cultural, and political rights of the city’s Armenian American community and promotes increased Armenian American civic participation at the grassroots and public policy levels. It is the voice of this vibrant community which advances and enriches Glendale. The Armenian National Committee of Glendale is located at 407 E. Colorado St. in Glendale.
