![]() ANC Glendale Accepting Applications for Fall 2009 Internship Program Glendale, CA – The Armenian National Committee – Glendale Chapter announced The Armenian National Committee – Glendale Chapter (ANCG) announced this week that applications for the Fall Session of its Internship Program are now available. Interested individuals can view and download copies of the application by visiting the “For Students” section of the ANC Glendale website at www.ancglendale.org. “The ANC-Glendale Internship Program not only helped prepare me for college and my future in political activism, but also gave an extensive overview of the inner workings of Glendale’s city government and community,” stated In addition to networking with community leaders, candidates participate in workshops featuring a variety of guest speakers, including public officials, ANC leadership, and specialists from the community. With the growth of the internship program, ANCG interns will also benefit from increased externship opportunities with city department officials, commissions, media establishments and community based organizations.
The 2009 Fall Session of the ANCG Internship Program will begin on October 3, 2009 and end on December 18, 2009. Applications for the internship are available on the ANC Glendale Chapter website at www.ancglendale.org and through the ANCG headquarters. Applications must be postmarked by Friday, September 7, 2009 to be considered for the Fall 2009 Session. Applications will be reviewed and those deemed qualified will be invited for an interview before final selections are made. Established in Fall 2007, the ANCG IP is a selective part-time, leadership-training program, which introduces young public servants to all aspects of the public affairs arena. The program provides an opportunity for student leaders and activists to gain an in-depth understanding of Armenian American issues as well as advocacy efforts on the local level, while contributing to ANCG's vision and mission. The program hosts spring, summer, and autumn sessions.
