ANC Glendale Accepting Applications for Spring 2011 Internship Program
January 20, 2011

Glendale, CA – The Armenian National Committee – Glendale Chapter announced The Armenian National Committee – Glendale Chapter (ANCG) announced this week that applications for the Spring 2011 Session of its Internship Program are now available. Interested individuals can view and download copies of the application by visiting the “For Students” section of the ANC Glendale website at www.ancglendale.org.

“The ANC Glendale internship program has taught me how to handle myself more professionally in a work environment and the fundamental skills needed in order to succeed in any career path that I decide to choose down the line,” stated current ANCG intern, Sipan Ghazaryan.  “The workshops and projects assigned have allowed me to meet great leaders of our city, better understand the workings of our city government and be more proactive in everything that I do outside of the internship program,” added Ghazaryan.

In addition to networking with community leaders, candidates participate in workshops featuring a variety of guest speakers, including public officials, ANC leadership, and specialists from the community. With the growth of the internship program, ANCG interns will also benefit from increased externship opportunities with city department officials, commissions, media establishments and community based organizations.

The 2011 Spring Session of the ANCG Internship Program will begin on March 7, 2011 and run through June 18, 2011. Applications for the internship are available on the ANC Glendale Chapter website at www.ancglendale.org and through the ANCG headquarters. Applications must be postmarked by Friday, February 25, 2011 to be considered for the Spring 2011 Session.

Established in Fall 2007, the ANCG IP is a selective part-time, leadership-training program, which introduces high school and college students to all aspects of the public affairs arena.  The program provides an opportunity for student leaders and activists to gain an in-depth understanding of Armenian American issues as well as advocacy efforts on the local level, while contributing to ANCG's vision and mission. The program hosts spring, summer, and autumn sessions.

For more information or to request applications contact the ANCG headquarters at (818) 243-3444 or at info@ancglendale.org.
