![]() ANC Glendale Welcomes Kavarian and Movsessian into Fall Internship Program Glendale, CA - The Armenian National Committee-Glendale Chapter announced this week the Fall 2008 Internship Program participants, Patil Kavarian and Jennifer Movsessian. Patil Kavarian, a senior at Crescenta Valley High School has been a contributing member in the cities of La Crescenta and Glendale. She has been involved in a number of organizations and is an active member of the student body at Crescenta Valley High School, upholding the position as the Sophomore and Junior Class Treasurer. She has served in Crescenta Valley’s Armenian Club for the past two years, now holding the position of Co- President. Kavarian has also been involved in organizing Leadership Conferences for Junior High School Students as well as tutoring students of different age groups. While interning at ANCG, Kavarian will concentrate on Public and Media relations as well as Special Events and Fundraisers. “This internship program will provide me with the experience I need in order to accomplish my goals as a leader,” stated Patil Kavarian, Fall 2008 ANCG Intern. “I hope to obtain a thorough understanding of local government and issue in order to better serve my community,” added Kavarian. “It’s great to see such a hardworking organization assisting our community. I look forward to gaining first hand knowledge from my experiences here at ANCG. Not only will the skills I get from this internship aid me now, while I represent the 700 students of Glendale High’s senior class, but also in the future because after college I plan on returning to this City and serving my community,” stated Jennifer Movsessian, ANCG fall intern. Established in Fall 2007, the ANCG IP is a selective part time, leadership training program, which introduces intelligent and driven young public servants to all aspects of the public affairs arena. The program provides an opportunity for student leaders and activists to gain an in-depth understanding of Armenian American issues as well as advocacy efforts on the local level. The program hosts spring, summer, and autumn sessions. The Armenian National Committee-Glendale Chapter advocates for the social, economic, cultural, and political rights of the city's Armenian American community and promotes increased civic participation at the grassroots and public policy levels.
